Hello, I’m a Senior Lecturer in Music Technology at the University of Wolverhampton and Subject Leader of the MSc Audio Technology, MMus Music and MA Musical Theatre programmes. I completed a PhD in 2012/13 and became a Senior Fellow of the HEA in 2016. I previously worked with Simon Holland at The Open University Music Computing Lab and I’m particularly interested in tangible user interfaces, sound synthesis, interactive audiovisual systems (from video games to installations and A/V performance), and the histories of live electronic music. My most recently completed project explored the use of an ambient soundtrack to replace some aspects of audio description for theatre for visually impaired audiences. I’m currently working on a portable and affordable patchable/semi-modular synthesizer intended for undergraduate pedagogical use.
